What "film look" means here
Phone photos are often clean but flat: hard highlights, cold whites, the same crisp sharpness everywhere. Photos shot on film tend to have softer highlights, slightly shifted color, lifted shadows and fine grain. Fenella gives your photo that kind of finish. It does not add stickers, light-leak overlays, date stamps or frames, and it does not add anything that wasn't in the scene.
How it works
- Upload one photo on the home page. Your first one is free.
- Set the change amount from 0% to 100%. Low values stay close to your original. Higher values push the film character further.
- You see the credit cost before anything runs: 1 credit per version, so one Make is 3 credits for 3 versions.
- Pick the version you like and download it.
There's no prompt to write and no sliders to learn beyond the change amount.
What stays the same
It's the same photo, with the same framing and the same people. Fenella does not reshape faces, swap backgrounds, add objects or restage the scene. If you need a new background, a different pose or extra things in the picture, Fenella is the wrong fit.
Where it works well, and where it doesn't
It works best on travel snapshots, street scenes, everyday portraits in daylight, and cafés or rooms with window light. It is less suited to very dark or noisy photos (grain on top of noise rarely looks good), screenshots, images that already have a heavy filter, and very small images. It is a film-style finish. It is not an emulation of any particular brand's film stock, and we don't claim it matches one.
What it costs
New accounts get 3 free credits (valid 30 days), enough for 1 Make. After that, $19 buys 45 credits, which is 15 Makes or 45 versions. It's a one-time purchase, not a subscription. 1 credit = 1 version, charged only when you press Make.

Questions
Is this a preset filter?
No. Each photo is adjusted on its own, and every Make gives you 3 different versions to choose from. Results depend on the photo you start with.
Can I make an iPhone photo look like 35mm film?
You can give it a film-style look: softer highlights, film-like color and grain. It won't change the lens, the moment or the composition, and it doesn't copy a named film stock.
Will it change my face?
It's designed not to. Faces aren't reshaped or replaced, and nothing is added to the scene. Look at all 3 versions and download only the one you're happy with.
How much does it cost?
Your first photo is free to try. After that, 1 credit = 1 version, so one Make (3 versions) is 3 credits. New accounts get 3 free credits. $19 = 45 credits (15 Makes, 45 versions), one-time, with no subscription.
Do I need to write a prompt or learn editing?
No. Upload, set the change amount, press Make, and pick one.
