What this does

Golden hour is the time just after sunrise and before sunset, when light is low, warm and soft. Fenella can warm and soften the light that is already in your photo, so skin, walls and leaves pick up that late-day glow. It works with the light that's there. It does not move the sun, paint in a sunset sky, or invent long shadows that weren't in the original.

How it works

  1. Upload one photo on the home page. Your first one is free.
  2. Set the change amount from 0% to 100%. Lower keeps the warmth subtle and natural. Higher makes it warmer and glowier.
  3. You see the credit cost before anything runs: 1 credit per version, so one Make is 3 credits for 3 versions.
  4. Pick one and download it.

What stays the same

It's the same photo, with the same framing and the same people. Faces aren't reshaped, backgrounds aren't swapped, and no sun, sky, flare or objects are added. If you need a real sunset behind someone, you'll need to shoot at sunset or use a compositing tool. Fenella doesn't do that.

Where it works well, and where it doesn't

It works best on outdoor photos with some side or back light, portraits near a window, beaches, fields and buildings in afternoon light, and rooms with warm lamps. Midday photos with hard overhead light will get warmer and softer, but they won't become a true sunset. Very dark, blue-hour or night photos are better suited to the cinematic look. For portraits, a lower change amount keeps skin tones natural.

What it costs

New accounts get 3 free credits (valid 30 days), enough for 1 Make. After that, $19 buys 45 credits, which is 15 Makes or 45 versions. It's a one-time purchase, not a subscription. 1 credit = 1 version, charged only when you press Make.

Questions

Can it add a sunset sky?

No. Fenella keeps your scene as it is. It warms and softens the existing light, but it doesn't replace the sky.

Will it work on a photo taken at noon?

Partly. It will look warmer and softer, but hard midday shadows stay where they are, so it won't look like a real sunset.

Does it work indoors?

Yes, especially with window light or warm lamps.

Will skin look orange?

At high settings it can look very warm. For portraits, start with a lower change amount and pick the most natural of the 3 versions.

How much does it cost?

Your first photo is free to try. After that, 1 credit = 1 version, so one Make (3 versions) is 3 credits. New accounts get 3 free credits. $19 = 45 credits (15 Makes, 45 versions), one-time, with no subscription.
